  1. Write song lyric
  2. Put it to music
  3. Record a basic track (Nowadays, generally using MIDI piano)
  4. Add in a drum part (Thank you Drums on Demand!)
  5. Add in other parts, arranging as it goes
  6. Add enough that it is declared to be a finished backing track
  7. Burn to CD-RW
  8. Play repeatedly in car
  9. Note errors
  10. Correct errors
  11. Record vocals
  12. Listen to vocals, cry, and curse the quality of the vocals
  13. Re-record the vocals
  14. Repeat #12
  15. Settle on best of the vocal parts
  16. Repeat #7, #8
  17. Repeat #12, 13
  18. Repeat #15
  19. Do a final mix
  20. Repeat #7, #8
  21. Redo final mix
  22. Settle
